Resources within the Community 

  • The Gerstein Crisis Centre is a 24-hour community-based mental health crisis service for adults in Toronto. The centre offers a 24-hour crisis line, 416-929-5200, for callers experiencing a mental health crisis. 
  • Family Service Toronto, located at 355 Church Street, offers counselling for individuals, families, and couples. Family Service Toronto also has a free in-person and virtual walk-in clinic.  
  • Distress Centres of Toronto/Scarborough offer 24-hour telephone support, at 416-408-4357, to individuals in crisis as well as referrals to community agencies. 
  • Help Ahead is the centralized resource and intake phone line for multiple trusted community-based mental health organizations in Toronto. They have up-to-date information about the available programs and services and can find local supports to address the needs of your child and family.
  • Peel Crisis Services offers 24-hour crisis intervention services (phone and outreach) to people in the Peel Region. Call 905-278-9036 to access services. 
  • Mind Your Mind works with young people aged 14 to 29 to co-create interactive tools and innovative resources to build capacity and resilience. 
  • Youthdale is a leading Toronto-based non-profit and charitable community agency dedicated to serving children, youth, young adults and families struggling with complex mental health needs. Parents and legal guardians who need help can call their Crisis Service Line (416-363-9990) 24 hours a day, seven days a week to speak with a trained professional
