FLC RESOURCES

Key FLC databases that support [subject] research are:

  • Bloomberg (3 terminals; only available in the FLC)

The FLC offers workshops on Bloomberg and Factset during the Fall and Winter terms; check our website for details. You can also request a quick introductory training session on these databases from FLC staff.

FACTSET

FactSet offers company, industry, market and economic data.

While the main focus is on public companies, FactSet also covers private companies and venture capital investment.

FactSet is available for remote access through a personal FactSet Connect account. To request an account, please email utm.lkcflc@utoronto.ca with the following information:

  • First and last name
  • UofT email address (@mail.utoronto.ca)
  • Program of study (e.g. Commerce)
  • Expected month and year of graduation (e.g. June 2020)
  • Type of personal computer: MAC or PC

BLOOMBERG

Bloomberg is available for  faculty, researchers, staff, and students currently affiliated with the University of Toronto at the Li Koon Chun Finance Learning Centre (FLC).

Available on 3 terminals; only available in the FLC

  • Bloomberg Intelligence (BI) offers coverage of the healthcare, medical technology (devices), biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries
  • BI includes company primers, industry and trend analysis, third-party sales data for drugs and selected devices (US only), company market share, and more.

DATABASE CERTIFICATIONS

Both Bloomberg and FactSet offer free certification programs to current students. These involve self-directed, self-paced online learning modules tied to each database.
