EUROPEAN IMAGE COLLECTIONS

Danish National Art Library, Architectural Drawings. The collections' focus is on Danish architecture from the early 19th to the late 20th century. Its extensive holding cover large amounts of drawings by C.F. Hansen, Arne Jacobsen, M.G. Bindesbøll, Hack Kampmann, Kay Fisker, Ivar Bentsen, Martin Nyrop, Anton Rosen, Christian Hansen, C.F. Harsdorff, Carl Petersen, Poul Henningsen, Mogens Lassen, Vilhelm Dahlerup, Ulrik Plesner and many, many more, both better and lesser known architects.

Danish National Art Library, Architectural Photographs. A special focus is Danish architecture during the period from the 1860s up to the end of the 1900 century. The library owns a large collection recorded by the country's top architectural photographers, including Strüwing foto, Kjeld Helmer-Petersen and Jonals foto. In addition, the Library has received extensive collections of photographs and slides from Danish architects

Danish National Art Library, Rare Books.The oldest book in the Library is a 1512-edition of Leon Battista Alberti's groundbreaking renaissance architectural treatise. Many of the rare books are treasures of books history, like Andrea Palladio's Quattro libri dell'architettura in the first edition from 1570, Andrea Pozzo's Prospettiva de pittori e architetti from 1693-1700 or G.P. Lomazzos Trattato dell'arte della pittura, scoltura, et architettura from 1585.
