It is a stimulating field with a wide range of career opportunities where skills that you have developed as a student editor are an asset. Come and hear from the panelists--all former student editors--who are now working in scholarly publishing in different capacities. They will share their experiences about what it is like to work in publishing and share some practical suggestions about how to secure a publishing job. Description:

Are you a journal editor or someone volunteering to copy-edit and not sure what to do when you sit down to edit an article? In this workshop, we’ll discuss the kinds of editing you’re likely to engage in (copyediting & structural editing) and teach you some strategies for providing effective and impactful feedback to your authors so that you can publish clear and concise articles.  

  • Understand the difference between structural & copy-editing 
  • Identify impactful strategies for global revision, local revision, and proofreading
