Student Editor Grants: A Funding Opportunity from Coalition Publica
Presenters:
Host:
Description: This session will present a unique funding opportunity for Canadian student editors. Two $1,000 grants are offered each year by Coalition Publica to undergraduate or graduate students at Canadian higher education institutions who are involved in student-run journals. The grants are designed to assist student editors with specific projects that will benefit their journals and help develop their publishing skills. Hear from last year’s recipients about the projects they launched with their grants: representatives from the Carleton Undergraduate Journal of Science will share their recently developed diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) guide for scientific research and reporting, as well as their lessons learned from the project, and an editor from tba: Journal of Art, Media and Visual Culture will discuss the print zine that the journal produced to reach communities with limited access to the internet. Come and hear about these ambitious projects and learn more about how to apply for this year’s grants from Coalition Publica staff.
