Finding Market Research Reports

A guide to market research resources available at U of T.

Welcome!

In this guide you'll find resources to help you with market research.

  • Market research reports: The library subscribes to several market research databases that provide market size, segmentation, forecasts, top companies and other information. See Additional Links and Research Tips for suggestions on what to do and where to search when a market research for your topic is unavailable.
  • Industry profiles: Industry profiles by publishers like IBISWorld, Euromonitor, MarketLine and S&P provide sales figures, forecasts and top companies by industry sector.
  • News and business periodicals: Trade publications often have annual state-of-the-industry articles with forecasts and market sizing; articles in business magazines or newspapers may have excerpts from market research reports we don't have access to.
  • Industry associations: Industry associations often publish industry statistics or market research to help promote the industry.

If you are looking for information on how to do your own market research, there are related workshops available in the Entrepreneurship Workshop series: https://guides.library.utoronto.ca/ERW and information on the market research page of the Entrepreneurship research guide: https://guides.library.utoronto.ca/entrepreneurship/market
