Planning - Questions to ask yourself:
1. What kind of space and recording equipment will I need?
2. How broad and replicable is the format episode after episode?
3. How labour intensive will it be - give yourself plenty of time for the process.
Script Writing - Some tips:
- Write the way you speak
- Use short and simple sentences
- Provide proper introduction and transitions
- Read your script aloud and edit it
Recording - Avoiding Common Problems
- Test the recording levels
- Avoid echoes, noise, interruptions
- Remember to press record/check that it is recording
- Avoid the following: Hard surfaces; Large spaces; Fans; Fridges; HVAC Systems; Phones; Pets; Doorbells; Computers; Jewelry
- Stay close to the mic and monitor your recording continually
