Researcher profiles in Web of Science are created automatically when publications are indexed in the database, but a user can also create a profile.

Web of Science automatically adds publications to your profile for you. This is automatically enabled for your profile, but you can opt out at any time through your profile settings.
You also have the option to:
Anyone in the world can view your profile, but users will have varying levels of access to profile details depending on whether they have access to an institutional subscription to Web of Science.
Free users have no subscription access to Web of Science and have not registered for a free account. They come to your profile from a direct link. You can share the direct link to your profile on a website, like your organization's faculty page for example, or simply by sharing it directly with someone. Free users will have limited visibility of your profile information.
Registered users have created a free Web of Science account, but do not have subscription access to Web of Science through an organization. They can see all of the publications you've placed in your profile, but can only see a selection of your author metrics. Registered users can use Web of Science to search researcher profiles by name or identification number (Web of Science ResearcherID or ORCID), but they cannot search Web of Science article records.
Web of Science subscribers have full access to Web of Science data based on their organization's subscription.They can:
