The University of Toronto Libraries online search is getting a massive upgrade in February 2021. As one of the largest and top-ranked academic library systems in North America, we have an incredibly diverse collection of resources--- books, ebooks, journal articles, and primary sources. We want our resources to be as easy to find as possible for our community, so we are getting a new library search system. This new system makes it easier to search, discover, and access the information you need for your research, teaching and learning.
In the new system, it will be easier to find both print and electronic collections, because you will now be able to search across a variety of resources at once, including HathiTrust, Internet Archives, and the Center for Research Libraries, sources that would have been searched separately in the past. Filtering search results will also be easier.
The new library search system will also improve services for faculty and students by making our behind-the-scenes work more efficient and consistent and better allow staff to share expertise across the library system.
