A number of general-interest magazines offer in-depth analysis, editorials, and opinion articles on current public affairs. They include Canadian and international journals. We have selected some magazines that we deemed to be the most relevant for the subject matter of this course.

Features opinion and editorial columns as well as investigative journalism, covering Canadian and international news and current events. The magazine looks at a broad range of topics, including politics, economy, education, culture, society, and work.

Provides news and analysis of current events. Articles cover news, culture, technology, international affairs, and politics, as well as book, music, and movie reviews.


The New Yorker

Includes commentary, criticism, cartoons, and essays on current issues.


The New York Times Book Review

Presents extended reviews of noteworthy books, short reviews, essays and articles on topics and trends in publishing, literature, culture and the arts.
