CHM499: Introduction to Chemistry Research

The resources in this guide will help you through the CHM499 research process from start to finish.

Alerting Services

Each database has an email alert service to help you stay up to date with new literature, and specific searches. 

You must register for an account with a database to receive email alerts.

SciFinder-n

  1. Run your search (while logged into your registered account).
  2. Select "Save and Alert" for substance, reaction, and reference searches.
  3. Name your alert, and set the frequency for how often you would like to receive results.

Web of Science

  1. Run your search (while logged into your registered account).
  2. Select "Create Alert".
  3. Name your alert, and set the frequency for how often you would like to receive results.

Reaxys

  1. Run your search (while logged into your registered account).
  2. Select "History" on the banner along the top of the screen.
  3. Select "Alert".
  4. Name your alert, and set the frequency for how often you would like to receive results.
