The 2017 Hong Kong Chief Executive election was on 26 March 2017. Since the method for selecting the Chief Executive was stipulated by the Joint Declaration and the Basic Law, we developed this section of the Hong Kong Basic Law Portal to provide up-to-date background information on the election and links to the candidates’ websites.
