HPS 318 Research: History of Medicine from Antiquity to the Renaissance

FIND items using Library Search (or Library Catalogue)

The Library Search (or Library Catalogue) searches all campuses and colleges in UofT for:

  • Books; AV material; Maps; Government publications
  • Journals (Magazines, Newspapers)
  • Journal Articles and Book Chapters (from a limited number of databases)    

 

Look at the SUBJECTS of a relevant book to obtain additional keywords for your search. For examle note the SUBJECTS of the book: Arber, Agnes Robertson. Herbals: Their Origin and Evolution. A Chapter in the History of Botany, 1470-1670

  • Botanical literature.
  • Botany History.
  • Botany Pre-Linnean works Bibliography.
  • Herbs.

Use the library catalogue to find out if you have access to a journal title: 

  • Social History of Medicine
  • The Journal of Medieval and Early Modern Studies
  • Journal of the History of Medince and Allied Sciences
  • Medical History

You can also search for journal articles and book chapters by using specialized subject databases.
