BTC1800H5: Research Workshop

A guide for BTC1800 students on conference proceedings, citations, and research strategies.

STRATEGY #1: MARKET RESEARCH REPORTS

Market research reports will include data and statistics, often in chart or tabular form.  Check the source credits (or citations) to continue your research beyond the report!

Use the Find Industry, Company, and Market Research tab of the Biotechnology @ UTM research guide to find market research reports through the library.

If you have a reference to a report that you can't find through the library, press releases, news articles or blog posts may have some useful data or insights from the report.

STRATEGY #2: ADVANCED GOOGLE SEARCH

Use a robust set of keywords to capture various kinds of market information, together with some of the Advanced Search features described elsewhere in this guide to find market research.

A few of the keywords associated with market information include:

  • forecast
  • outlook
  • trends
  • CAGR
  • market size
  • TAM/SAM
  • landscape
  • competitors

Using Google's Image Search can also be useful here!
