The Business Formation Statistics (BFS) are a product of the U.S. Census Bureau, developed at the Center for Economic Studies. The BFS provide timely and high frequency information on on new business applications and formations in the United States.

The CEIC China Premium Database is a Chinese statistical database which provides more than 230,000 time series of macroeconomic and industry data at national, provincial and city level. Topics include national account, government and public finance, labor market, consumer good market, foreign trade, money and banking, investment, real estate, automobile and lots more. Time series can be exported in Excel format.

The CHASS Census Analyzer allows members of the University of Toronto research community to generate custom tables from the Census of Canada (1961-2011) and the National Household Survey (2011). The interface enables the selection of relevant variables and census geographies, providing access to data down to the dissemination area (DA) level.

FRED (Federal Reserve Economic Data) is maintained by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. Offers access to almost 400,000 economic time-series from 80 public and private data providers. Data can be searched by keyword or browsed using tags, e.g. 'housing', 'prices'. Data can be graphed within FRED and exported, as well as the underlying data.

Global Financial Data provides access to historical stocks, commodities, and other financial time-series, as well as complete information on Consumer Prices, Wholesale Prices, Monetary Aggregates, Production, and other measures of the economy for 200 countries. The database distinguishes itself from other data providers in extending data series further back than any other source. Data can be downloaded in .xls or .csv formats, or graphed in-browser.

Provides access to a range of economic time series that relates to financial stability, productivity, exchange rates, etc. Note the International Financial Statistics for individual countries are included in a separate product licensed by the library.

The interactive Data Mapper tool allows users to select data or indicators for regions and/or countries and map or graph them. All data is available for download.

A subsite of the IMF focused on the global housing market. Updated quarterly with price and valuation data but only data for the most current quarter is available for download. Perhaps most useful to identity trends, sources for further research and link to other IMF publications on the topic of housing, housing finance and credit.

ODESI is a repository of over 3,500 Canadian social science datasets, including Statistics Canada microdata files and statistical tables, as well as a range of public opinion polling data. ODESI allows users to search for survey questions (variables) across thousands of datasets and supports basic tabulation and analysis online. It also allows for the downloading of most datasets into statistical software for further analysis.

The OECD portal for both its publications and data, licensed by the library. Includes additional data over and above the data found on the free OECD data website.

Click on 'Statistics' to look for data. Browse data by country and topic, or by publication (if known) or click on the 'Advanced Search' option found underneath the first search box at the top of the page. Use the filters, e.g. country, date range, content type. Data can be exported into Excel.

The Scholars GeoPortal provides access to large scale geospatial datasets, as well as sophisticated search, discovery and analysis tools. Resources include data licensed by Ontario academic libraries, such as land-based vector data (water, cultural features, etc.), census geography, and orthophotography.
