One of the components of this Introduction to Curation course is the opportunity to create your own digital exhibit. Artsteps is a software that will allow you to do this quite easily! Additionally, it has a VR component as well, which can allow your viewer to interact with the materials.
Artsteps is a web-based software that allows users to create virtual art/museum galleries within 3D spaces. It is useful for artists, art organizations in order to model actual and virtual exhibits. You can include both 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional artifacts, as well as videos in the exhibit. Additionally, you can embed an exhibit on a website or blog.
Artsteps is released by Dataverse Ltd, a software development company. Incorporated in 2007, Dataverse is built around a solid team of computer engineers, web designers, software developers and content experts, most of whom draw from a long experience (of more than 15 years) with the use of web based technologies for the documentation and promotion of art and cultural heritage.
