How to find First Nations children's books

NOTE: When searching the library catalogue please keep in mind that library classifications and historical library materials contain many old terms such as "Native" and "Indian". We are working to improve and update these terms.

1. Go to LibrarySearch select "Advanced Search" on the right hand side of the page. 
2. Navigate to "Search Scope" and select "OISE/UT Library."
3. Under "Search Filters" beside "Any Field" enter “First Nations” as a search term. 
4. Select "Search" in the bottom right hand side. 
5. Use "Filter your results" on the left hand side to narrow your results. Select "OISE/UT Library" under "Library.”
6. Under “Subject” select all options that include the term “Juvenile” or “Primary.”

Other keywords in Step 3 you can try to include: 

• Aborginal 
• "Indians of North America" 
• The name of a specific Aboriginal people (e.g., Iroquois Indians)
