Some relevant dictionaries, encyclopedias, and other resources are listed to the left and right of this box. This is just a sampling of what is available, and is in no way a complete list of the available resources on this topic. Use the Catalogue search in the box below to search for additional books related to ergonomics.
To search for more resources on ergonomics, you could try doing a keyword or subject search.
For a keyword search, select "anywhere" from the drop-down menu next to the search box, and then trying searching for keywords on your topic, such as ergonomics.
If you find a book you like in your search, you can use it to help you search for more books on a similar subject. For example:
For a subject search, select "subject" from the drop-down menu next to the search box, and then trying using subjects discovered by the process above or start by trying one of the following suggested subjects listed below:
anthropometry
human engineering
human factors
human-computer interaction
Once you have conducted a search, you may refine your search results by using the "Refine Results" panel on the left hand side of the screen. You may refine your search results by a variety of aspects, such as author or date. You can also limit your results to only online resources by selecting "Online Resources" under the 'Library" section of "Refine Results."
Another technique you can use to find books is shelf browsing. Books in most U of T Libraries, including Engineering & Computer Science Library, are arranged on the shelves using the Library of Congress Classification System. This system arranges books on the same topic together on the bookshelves.
For example, the book Handbook of Human Factors and Ergonomics has a call number TA166. H275 2005. The first part, TA166, corresponds to all subjects classified under human engineering. With this information, you can shelve browse, by walking over to the shelf where that book is located and looking at other books in the same area that also have call numbers that begin with TA166 to find more books on your topic.
