BIOD13 Herbology

This guide will help students in the course BIOD13 to find relevant resources to discover the science behind medicinal plants including books, articles, and websites.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Sign up and register for Zotero, a citation management tool so to help you stay organized in your research and citations
  2. You will practice adding various resource types to your Zotero library so to build your reference list.
  3. You will identify a list of keywords specific to your topic that will help you to retrieve relevant books and articles in a library database for your research paper.
  4. You will design and refine needs and search strategies as necessary, based on search results.  

In Preparation 

Please go to zotero.org before the workshop and do the following: 

  1. Register for a free Zotero account 

  1. Download the Zotero program to your computer 

  1. Download the browser connector for Zotero

Note that research and creative projects do not need to be completed by the Undergraduate Research and Creative Forum submission deadline in February. Students are encouraged to submit their proposal as long as their work is anticipated to be completed prior to March 25th.
