Doctoral students in their final year will have their academic fees pro-rated over 12 months after completing degree requirements (i.e., submission of their defended, corrected thesis). Doctoral students are provided with a deadline to submit their thesis after their defence (one week, one month, or three months), and are also provided with information regarding the next fees deadline (15th of each month) and convocation deadline.
Masters students have deadlines in the fourth week of September and the third week of January to finish degree requirements and avoid registration and fees for that session. These deadlines are also convocation deadlines.
Further information about final year fees and deadlines for graduate students is available in the Program Completion section of the SGS website. As well, SGS provides a checklist of steps which follow the successful thesis defence.
