This guide will help you find a variety of sources for your annotated bibliography and final research essay assignments.

Learning Outcomes

Scholarship as a conversation 

  • You will seek out conversations taking place by and with Indigenous people people when discussing the environment and justice.  

Research as Inquiry 

  • You will determine an appropriate scope of investigation by doing a quick annotated bibliography on your background research.  

Searching as Strategic Exploration 

  • You will utilize divergent (e.g., brainstorming) and convergent (e.g., selecting the best source) thinking when searching in Indigenous Studies iPortal database with a focus on Indigenous approaches.

The University of Toronto Scarborough is committed to fostering the undergraduate experience. As part of this commitment, the UTSC Office of the Vice-Principal Research and Innovation and the UTSC Library launched two successful initiatives in 2016 which continue to evolve and grow every year.
