SPA196: Work & Class in the Americas

This guide is intended to support students in Prof. E. Jagoe's SPA 196 course.

Citation Guides

APA Citation Style:

The official APA citation guide (Publication manual of the American Psychological Association: the official guide to APA style) is unfortunately not currently available online via the library. However, E.J. Pratt Library, Emmanuel College Library, and most UofT libraries have a print copy that should be always available in the reference section of the library (must be used in the library). Check here for availability and locations of the hardcopy official APA citation guide.

Online APA Citation Guides:

Refworks

Refworks is a citation management tool available for free to students at the University of Toronto.
The UTL catalogue and many databases will export directly to Refworks. This makes it easy to keep track of your bibliography (works cited list) while doing research!  Remember that automated citation generation can contain errors, so it is good practice to double check any citations from a citation website or application.

For more information and to log in, visit the U of T Libraries Refworks page

If you have never had a Refworks account:

1. Click on: "Log in to Proquest Refworks"
2. Click on "Create account" and follow the steps to create an account with your UToronto email address
