At this time, you can create personal collections in JSTOR by connecting through ARTstor. In order to do this, log into ARTstor. If you have created a JSTOR account, you should be able to use the same login.
Once you have logged into your account in ARTstor, you will be able to create a personal collection. To do this, choose "Browse" from the navigation drop-down menu, and select "Personal Collections:"
You can upload your images using the "Upload" feature:
You can then select image(s) that you would like to add:
Once you have uploaded your images, you can add metadata to the various fields provided to give more information about the object. Just select the image, and the metadata form will appear:
Save the metadata, and your images will be uploaded to your personal collection. This can take up to 30 minutes:
Once you have uploaded your images, you can create a collection in ARTstor, that then can be transferred to JSTOR. First, navigate to your "Personal collection:"
You can then select the item that you would like to add to a Group:
You will see an option to add the item to a group:
If you have not created a group yet, you will be prompted to create one. You can fill in the Group title, and add a description. You can decide this group as well, and add tags that help you to search for this particular group, which is useful once you have created many groups.
If you already have groups within ARTstor, you can also create a new group from your personal selection. Just select an image, and select Add to group:
Once you have a group created, you can continue to add images to it.
You can easily transfer a group that you created in ARTstor to JSTOR. First, go to the following URL and ensure that you are logged in:
https://www-jstor-org.myaccess.library.utoronto.ca/copygroups/
You will see the following:
You can select "Get Started" to move your image groups to your Work Space. Once you select this, a list of groups that you have created in ARTstor will pop up:
Once you do this, you will be taken to your JSTOR workspace:
