As part of its mandate the TRC gathered statements from former students of Indian Residential Schools and anyone else who felt impacted by the schools and their legacy. The TRC collected thousands of statements from across Canada and almost all were video- and-audio-recorded.
The statements are archived at the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg.
