RLG325H5 UTM Visions and Revelations

A guide to support an assignment on ancient Jewish apocalyptic literature.

Hi everyone,

This guide is designed to help you with your second assignment on a Jewish apocalyptic text.

The texts your are examining are in your textbook, Apocalyptic Literature: A Reader.

The REFERENCE SOURCES SECTION lists material held in the Short Term Loan collection at the UTM Library to assist with this project.

Please note the box with information on a special issue of Semeia recommended by your professor. Encyclopedias, dictionaries and handbooks are also available to help you locate additional information.

FINDING BOOKS has a brief introduction to the catalogue. Remember many of the entries in the Reference Sources section had bibiographies. Look up these titles to find additional information. Books in the Robarts library can be requested and arrive within 24 to 48 hours. If the book is in a college library it may take longer.

FINDING ARTICLES  lists religion databases for your topic and will help you identify journal articles to assist with your assignment.

Remember to acknowledge your use of sources. The section on CITATION STYLES and WRITING HELP provides links to citation styles. If you need assistance writing the paper many useful links are available in the writing section.

Best Wishes

Elaine Goettler, Liaison Librarian
