RLG325H5: Visions and Revelations

A guide to support an assignment on ancient Jewish apocalyptic literature.

Hi everyone,

This guide is designed to help you with your second assignment on

  1. Similitudes of Enoch (a Jewish apocalypse)
  2. Ascension of Isaiah (a Christian apocalypse)

The texts your are examining are in your textbook, Apocalyptic Literature: A Reader (1995).

Finding Books has a brief introduction to the catalogue. It includes links to several videos to assist you. Remember many of the entries in the Reference Sources section have reference lists and bibliographies. Look up these titles to find additional information.

Books in the Robarts library can be requested and arrive within 24 to 48 hours. If the book is in a college library it may take longer.

Finding Articles lists religion databases for your topic and will help you identify journal articles to assist with your assignment.

Remember to acknowledge your use of sources. The section on Citing Sources and Writing Help provides links to citation styles. If you need assistance writing the paper, many useful links are available in the writing section.
