Captivate: UTSC's Digital Storytelling Competition Resource Guide

Competition Requirements & Submission Guidelines

Please review the competition requirements carefully. If you have any questions or seek any clarification, please email us! 

All UTSC students are welcome to attend any of the events and workshops of the competition, however, to be eligible for the prizes,  

  • Students must be currently enrolled in courses at University of Toronto Scarborough.  
  • Students must attend the required competition training workshops.
  • Submissions must meet the competition requirements.

Required Workshops & Important Deadlines

In order to maximize your learning experience, all participants are required to complete two workshops. If you cannot attend the workshops for any reason, please let us know!

Submission Requirements

All submissions must meet the following requirements to be eligible for the competition prizes:

  • Submitted by Sunday November 13, 2022 11:59 pm.

  • Submission must include all creators and contributors' names, biographies, and headshots.  

  • Submissions must have a title and brief description (max 200 words) that includes the format. 

  • Contributors and anyone featured in the story must sign the UTSC Media Release form (details below). 

  • Submissions must be an original work by the creator and must be created for the purpose of this contest. Submissions that have been published on other platforms or prior publications will not be considered. 

  • Submissions should not include copyrighted material. The use of copyrighted materials will result in immediate disqualification. 

  • Submissions must be of a high digital quality, and no larger than XX MB.

  • Submissions must be in a web accessible format. Visit this page for tips on how to make your content accessible for anyone.

UTSC Media Consent Form

By entering this contest, you consent to the terms of the UTSC's Media Consent Form. All contributors and people featured in your story must sign the media release. You must collect the email confirmations from anyone featured and include them in your submission.
