CRE345 Evidence-Based Approaches to Creativity

Support for your research and writing

Research consultation (individual appointments)

During a 30-60 minute consultation typically, we would:

  • discuss your research topic, help you fine tune it (narrow it down to an appropriate thesis or research question)
  • discuss the appropriate tools or collections for finding supporting research, evidence or additional information 
  • enhance your search strategy (help you identify the most effective search terms)

You can book an online or in-person research consultation with the 2025-2026 contact librarian for this course, Hannah Tanna, E.J. Pratt Library. 
Simply email: h.tanna@utoronto.ca , and please include the following:

  • Describe your question or research topic
  • Include an assignment description 
  • Suggest 3 different days/times when you would like to meet (a minimum of 2 days notice is preferred)
  • State your preference: whether you'd like to meet online, or in-person in the E.J. Pratt Library.

Drop-in research help at the E.J. Pratt Library:

During the fall and winter semesters, on-the-spot research help (no appointment necessary) is generally available between 9:30am and 5pm on weekdays (Mon-Fri). Typically, a Graduate Research Assistant should be available at the EJP Library's Research Help/Reference Desk.
They can provide suggestions and strategies to get your started well on your academic research.
If the research help desk is not staffed when you arrive, Please let any library staff member know that you're seeking research help and they'll refer you as needed.
