Most banks now offer expense-tracking, budgeting or personal finance apps and tools to their customers. RBC, for example, offers spending analytics through NOMI Insights™ and NOMI Find & Save; these are embedded in the RBC mobile banking app. A similar desktop application, myFInance Tracker is also offered. TD also offers TD MySpend. Check to see what your bank provides. |
The resources below discuss or highlight various strategies and/or tools for tracking what you spend. In some cases, budgeting is also addressed -- with some apps, budgeting or money management is bundled with the apps' tracking functionality.
Try this online calculator associated with the book The Latte Factor (2019) by David Bach to see how diverting small, non-essential expenditures into savings could add up over time. Identifying what you're spending, and how often, will help you understand where these opportunities to save exist!
