Support for your research and writing

Research consultations

You can book a one-on-one online or in-person research consultation with me, Diane, the contact librarian for this course. Consultations with a project group (up to 5 people) are also possible.

During a 30-60 minute consultation we can:

  • discuss your research topic and help you narrow it down to an appropriate thesis or research question
  • discuss the appropriate tools to use to find supporting research, evidence or additional information
  • enhance your search strategy (have you go through the process of identifying the most effective search terms)

Just email me: diane.michaud @ utoronto.ca (without the spaces) and include the following

  • Describe your research question or topic
  • Include an assignment description if applicable
  • Suggest 3 different days/times when you would like to meet (a minimum of 2 week days' notice is preferred)

Drop-in research help

Come in to the E.J. Pratt Library for on-the-spot research help Mon-Fri between 10am and 5pm. There will be a Research Assistant at the Research Help/Reference Desk, or you can ask any staff member for research help and they will connect you with a librarian.
