Welcome to this seminar-based course investigating constructions of artistic identity. This course is designed to develop skills in reading, writing and communicating the ideas, questions, images and texts that form our notions of the artist. Exploration and comparison of works across and within the context of the artist’s output provides substantial opportunities for deeper levels of interpretation, understanding and assessment. Students will develop and utilize research skills and critical methodologies appropriate to biographical investigation.
