EES2200 Advanced Seminar in Environmental Science (PhD)

This guide will help PhD Environmental Sciences students at UTSC access key resources for research, learn about publishing and scholarly communication, and more.

Finding specific articles

You can find specific articles several different ways, including:

  • Google Scholar (Refer to the "Google Scholar" page in this guide)
  • Directly through a journal's website. Expert Tip: Search for a journal in the library catalogue, click the catalogue record link for the journal then browse/search the journal website. If you simply Google the journal website and search for an article, you likely won't be able to access the full text. Alternatively, if you choose not to start your search from the library website and you're using Chrome or Edge browser, you can install an extension called LibKey Nomad. It will link you to the PDF of articles owned by U of T or open access. If you're on a journal website, you can also try pasting http://myaccess.library.utoronto.ca/login?url= in front of the URL you're currently on.  You will then be prompted to log in with your UTORid to access the full text.

caution icon This only works if the library actually subscribes to the journal.
