2. Attend a UTSC Library Makerspace Orientation

After familiarizing yourself with the details of ourequipment, procedures, and policies, it's time to sign up for a UTSC Library Makerspace orientation in the Library Instruction Lab. Here, you'll learn what to do when it comes to preparing a 3D design for printing, printing an object, and operating the equipment safey and properly. You will also learn about our Makerspace policies, and details about the other equipment we have in the space.

3. Pass the Knowledge Test
You will be given 10 minutes at the end of the Makerspace orientation to complete the Knowledge Test. Should you not complete it in that time, please be sure to complete it before making your first 3D printer booking.

4. Reserve Time on a 3D Printer

Use the Makerspace Resources calendar on the UTSC Intranet to book time on one of our printers. In order to ensure that the printers are only used by certified users, Makerspace staff have the right to refuse bookings by non-certified users.

Bookings can be made up to two weeks in advance, for a minimum of 30 minutes, and a maximum of 3 hours per day.
 

5. Print Your Object!

Now you are all set to print your object!. Obtain a file (through a file sharing website, or by creating your own) and come to the space with it, find the right printer based on your reservation, and get to work. Remember to follow all safety and printing regulations, and to share your work by filling out the log book and uploading a picture of your finished product on social using the hashtag #UTSCLibraryMakerspace
