Science Literacy Week 2014

“The purpose of science is not to cure us of our sense of mystery and wonder, but to constantly reinvent and reinvigorate it.” Robert M. Sapolsky

Imagining Science: Global Science Fiction

From its beginnings, science fiction has inspired readers, including scientists, and provided a lens for examining science, and our past, present, and possible futures. Science fiction is a global genre and through reading and comparing science fiction from different cultures, we get a glimpse of how differently science and technology are perceived around the world. Check out the book display table on the fourth floor of  Robarts Library. Titles have been selected from the Robarts Library stacks, the Cheng Yu Tung East Asian Library and the Richard Charles Lee Canada-Hong Kong Library and include titles in many languages. If you're a University of Toronto student or staff member, please feel free to borrow a book. Get inspired and explore the world at the same time!
