For more on Finding Newspapers, see the University of Toronto's Where to Find it: Newspapers libguide.
Newspapers can be useful as a primary or secondary source, and are a good source of current information. Here are some instructions on how to find information on public art, using the Canadian Newstand Database.
1. Choose the "Advanced Search." This will give you more control over the types of articles that you find.
2. From the "Advanced Search" screen, enter your keywords. For more tips on choosing keywords and searching, go to the Search Strategies tab. In this example, we are looking for articles on public art in Montreal over the last three years:
3. Specify the date you would like. Here, the last three years have been chosen.
4. Choose "News" as the document type.
5. Once you have your search results, you can further refine your results by subject, date, publication title, and language.
