Creating a Library Resource Guide

Learning Objectives:

Students will apply their knowledge gained through coursework, lectures and readings in HLTC56: Drawing Illness to collaboratively build a library guide for students, faculty, researchers and staff about reading, accessing, interpreting and critiquing comics.

Instructions
  • The page headers could be used to guide the topic selection for library resources you will create.
  • The content in library guides usually includes:
    • language that is accessible and clear
    • links to resources such as journal articles, books, newspapers, other library guides...etc. (If the resources is a book or article, it is best practice to link the resource to the UTSC library catalogue or to the Toronto Public Library for access).
    • Imagery, graphs, charts, tables and other visuals are great ways to convey information! (Make sure the imagery you are using is cited and/or available for free re-use!).
    • titles and subtitles can be used to organize information.
    • Interactive elements are incredible tools to engage readers in active learning with the information - H5P content are open-source and easy to use tools that can be embedded.
