CITB03: Social Planning and Community Development

This guide will help students in CITB03 with finding information on neighbourhoods, demographics, newspaper articles, journal articles, and policy documents for their course assignments.

Learning Outcomes

Search Strategies

  1. You will explore the City of Toronto website to find census and demographic data for your neighbourhoods, and staff reports to help support your recommendations for your assignment. 

  2. You will identify a list of keywords specific to your topic in order to retrieve relevant newspaper articles in a library database for your Urban Communities & Neighbourhoods assignment. 

  3. You will learn to design and refine search needs and search strategies as necessary and based on search results.

Note that works do not need to be completed by the Undergraduate Research and Creative Forum submission deadline in February. Students are encouraged to submit their proposal as long as their work is anticipated to be completed prior to March 24th.
