Finding Screenings in Toronto

  • Try searching common terms linked to cult film screenings with Search Operators. (AND, OR, NOT, quotation marks, asterisk, rounded brackets): 
    • For example, experiment with the following:
      •  e.g., "Name of screening series" AND location name  AND year AND (month OR season) 
      • Cut and paste the following into a web browser:
        • "Midnight Screening" AND Toronto AND 2023 AND (october OR fall) AND Theatre
  • If you are looking for a particular cult film, filmmaker, or actor, try including the film title, city, and month / year
    • For example, "Movie Title" AND location name  AND year AND (month OR season) 
  • If there is a holiday / specific time of year coming up, think about what movies could be showing in relation to that.  
    • For example, if it is near Halloween, try searching for b-grade horror movies. 
  • Look up at the the names of local movie theatres on the web or social media platforms and check their screening schedules
    • Toronto AND (movie theatres OR repetoire theatres)
