CHMA10 Web of Science Research Basics

Search Web of Science

  1. From the library homepage, click on Databases, then Popular Databases:
    Databases

  2. Select Web of Science: Core Collection from the list of popular databases or select the link at the bottom of the page.
    • You may be prompted to sign-in with your UTORid and password in order to access the database.

  3. Select the Advanced Search option and enter the keywords you identified earlier.
    • When doing a Fielded Search, the default field option will be 'All fields'. I recommend changing it to 'Topic' before entering your keywords. The field can be changed using the drop-down menu.
    • You can either:
      • enter your keywords into one box using the appropriate boolean operator (AND, OR, NOT) or
      • add additional rows and then terms and fields, selecting the appropriate boolean operator (AND, OR, NOT) to connect the rows
