Types of Alerts

1. Table of Contents/TOC: Sent when a new issue of a journal is published.
2. Searches/Keyword: Sent to your email when hits result from saved search in a database - can be set up for any search.
3. Citation/Article: Sent when a chosen author or article in a database is cited by a new article. 

Where to find alerts

1. Table of Contents/TOC: Publisher's websites, journal databases, or tictocs.
2. Searches/Keyword: Journal databases.
3. Citation/Article: Journal databases.

How to set up Alerts

Every database will be slightly different but an account is usually required to set up an alert. These accounts are free. Always check the help files to determine how each database sets up their search alerts.
