Campus Startups 101

A starting point for University of Toronto students looking for entrepreneurship opportunities and resources on campus

Study space

U of T students can book study rooms at libraries for short-term use. Note: restrictions may apply.

Gerstein Library offers a presentation practice room (room 2000) for perfecting your pitch. Click "Group study rooms" to reserve it.

Office space

Once the epicentre of academic medical research at the University of Toronto, the Banting and Best buildings have been given a new lease on life as the home of the Banting & Best Centre. Office and laboratory space in the Banting & Best Centre can be leased from the University of Toronto through a license agreement.

If you are seeking office or laboratory space to commercialize your research please contact the University of Toronto Entrepreneurship Office for more information about current availability or to arrange for a tour of the buildings.

Located in the Banting & Best Centre, ONRamp will provide new collaborative workspaces for students, entrepreneurs and startup companies to support them in developing commercial ideas. It is anticipated to open in Summer 2017.

3D printing

The Gerstein Science Information Centre and the MADLab offer 3D Printing @ Gerstein + MADLab, a self-serve 3D printing studio complete with two MakerBot Replicator 2 3D printers and a MakerBot Digitizer 3D scanner. The service is available for all University of Toronto students, staff, and faculty. Learn more about this service.
