WHICH STYLE SHOULD I USE?

Choosing which citation style to use for citing your sources depends on which academic field you are writing in.

Sustainability management is considered a social science, and the most popular citation style used in the social sciences is the American Psychological Association style, or APA. Use APA to cite sources in sustainability management unless your professor explicitly asks you to use another style.

Western Libraries: Citing Business Sources
Provides specific examples of citations for a variety of source types (for in-paper use and bibliographies) commonly used by business students, e.g. investment research reports, annual reports, business cases, and business databases. It includes examples for both the Chicago Manual of Style and APA Style. Based on the 6th edition of the APA Publication Manual.

Maintained by York University's business library, this guide will help you cite business sources according to APA and MLA citation standards. Examples use the 6th edition of APA.
Purdue OWL: APA Formatting and Style Guide
Provides general APA guidelines and information about how to cite in reference lists and using in-text citation. Updated to reflect the 7th edition of the APA Publication Manual, published in October 2019.
APA 7th Edition Citation Guide for Business
