Reaxys is a chemistry specific database that allows you to search for substances, reactions and references. There are many ways to search the database including keywords, substance name and substance structure. While SciFinder-n is better for text-based searching and a bit easier to navigate, Reaxys has more property and reaction data as well as biological activity data. You may not need to use Reaxys for your lab reports just yet, but it may be helpful for more advanced courses, original research, or when working with lesser known substances!
This guide gives a quick overview of using Reaxys and its interface.
These tutorials will give a more in depth look at how to use Reaxys from getting started with searching for substances and literature to using Reaxys to design a retrosynthesis.
