Draw Molecules and Reactions

For your formal lab report, you will want to include drawings of molecules and reactions. Below are some options for chemical drawing software to help you draw chemical structures and include them in your document.

ChemDraw
Available for free to UofT students, ChemDraw is a great tool that allows you to draw molecules, reactions and even experimental setups and copy them into a Word doc. Visit the link above for instructions on how to download and install the software. You must renew your subscription each year in November.
ChemSketch
A free chemical drawing software similar to ChemDraw, available for Windows only.
Marvin JS
If you'd prefer not to download ChemDraw software to your computer or are not able to do so, try Marvin JS, a free web-based chemical drawing tool. While you cannot copy and paste your structure directly into a Word document, you can save it as an image file.
