LIN329H5S: Phonological Theory

Finding books (linguistics)

Don't shy away from using books for research.
You don't necessarily need to read the entire book.
Many books have chapters that are self-contained, and many are anthologies which contain multiple essays or articles by various authors.

To find books, it's best to start with a keyword search (word "anywhere") in the catalogue.

If you want to browse the shelves, linguistics books would be found in the section with call numbers starting with "P"

The various language groupings have their own LC classifications:

Romance languages are in call numbers starting with "PC"
Modern and Celtic languages are in call numbers starting with "PB"
The Greek language are in call numbers starting with "PA"
Germanic languages are in call numbers starting with "PD"
West Germanic languages are in call numbers starting with "PF"
Oriental languages are in call numbers starting with "PJ"
Indo-Iranian languages are in call numbers starting with "PK"
