If you found a source via the internet at large or via Google Scholar, it won't be clear whether the article is from a peer-reviewed journal (in case that's a important to you or is a requirement of your assignment).
You can use the directory below (Ulrich's Web) to check whether the journal the article is published in is a peer-reviewed journal or not.

If you are not sure whether a journal article is peer-reviewed or not, this database is very helpful. You simply enter the title of the journal in which the article appears and look in the appropriate column.
For 'peer reviewed' they use the term 'refereed'
Once you've searched and found the title or ISSN of the journal just look in the appropriate column for the "referee" jersey icon (it's a graphic depicting a black and white vertical striped shirt, like those worn by sports officials who are referees).
