Online research consultations

VIC students:
Can book an online research consultation with Diane Michaud, Vic Librarian, E.J. Pratt Library – diane.michaud@utoronto.ca
Bachelor of Information students:
Can book an online research consultation with Nalini Singh, Liaison Librarian for the iSchool – nalini.singh@utoronto.ca

During a consultation (30-60 minutes) we can:

  • Discuss your research topic, help you fine tune it  – e.g., narrow it down to an appropriate thesis or research question
  • Discuss the appropriate tools to use to find supporting research, evidence or additional information
  • Enhance your search strategy – e.g., help you identify the most effective search terms

Email your designated librarian and include the following:

  • Describe your question or research topic
  • Include an assignment description if applicable
  • Suggest 3 different days/times when you would like to meet – a minimum of 2 days notice is preferred

AskChat with a Librarian offers online research help via instant messaging. The service is available over extensive hours during the fall and winter semesters.

individual consultations by appointment, workshops & clinics and online writing handouts.
