BME499: Applied research in biomedical engineering

Citation management software

Most research questions in biomedical engineering are multi-disciplinary and therefore require searching in several article databases. It is recommended that a citation management system is used to help in the following ways:

1) Search different databases and import your results in a folder

2) Some databases overlap in journal coverage, and thus, you may end up with the same citation appearing more than once. Citation managers allows you to remove duplicate citations, so that you have one set of articles in each folder

3) Plugins from teh different managers allows you to automatically generate a bibliography in MS Word.
