HIS221H5: Gaming the System: Perceiving the Middle Ages in Video Games

Go to Pages

1) Click Sites and find HIS221 The Middle Ages and Video Games.

2) You can see the website information, such as URL slug, Title, and Summary, which Professor Ellis has created. You can click View at the top right corner to see the actual webpage.
In addition, now you can find Pages and Navigation on the left.

3) Once you click Pages, you see existing pages and their slugs.

Slug: the abbreviated exhibit name which appears in the URL, for example:
https://omeka.utm.utoronto.ca/s/HIS221_middle_ages_and_games/page/ae-plot-breakdown

Students are asked to follow the same format: initials, hyphen, name-of-the-site. Please pay attention to the example above.

Add a Page

1) Click Add new page at the top right corner.

2) Enter the URL slug with your initials. If there are students with the same initials, add one character of your choice. Click Add at the top right corner.

3) On the right, you see various blocks. See how to add blocks below. Here just click Save.

4) Repeat the process and create all pages (Your homepage, Introduction, Plot Breakdown, Settings and Characters, Analysis, and Biography) that you need to complete your assignment.

Edit Navigation

1) Once you create the pages (Your homepage, Introduction, Plot Breakdown, Settings and Characters, Analysis, and Biography) that you need to complete your assignment, go to Navigation.

Drag each child page (e.g., Introduction, Plot Breakdown, Settings and Characters, Analysis, and Biography) with the mouse under your Homepage. When you see ▶, you can move the page.

2) The page will appear on the HIS221 The Middle Ages and Video Games Omeka S site:
