How to Access the Auction House Sales Catalogues at the ROM Library and Archives
The Richar Wernham & Julia West Library is located on Level 1 (Main floor) of the Museum. Access is through the ROM’s Michael Lee Chin Crystal entrance on Bloor Street. Obtain a special library visitor's tag at the Museum Concierge Desk and ask for directions. The Richard Wernham & Julia West Library is located at the end of the Chinese Architecture Gallery. The Museum Archives is located inside the Richard Wernham & Julia West Library.
If you are looking for a particular catalogue or issue, please take note of the entire call number, the holdings information (which lists the libraries that have a particular title and where in the library the item is located) and the location (which notes if the title is in the library or available upon request). All of this information is essential to easily locate the item you need.
It is a good idea to e-mail or call the Main Library (firstname.lastname@example.org / 416.586.5595) or the Bishop White Committee Library of East Asia (email@example.com / 416.586.5718) to make sure that the materials you seek are available for use.
The Richard Wernham & Julia West Library and the Bishop White Committee Library of East Asia are reference libraries. The collections are non-circulating and materials are strictly in-library use only. The auction house sales catalogues may be used in the Richard Wernham & Julia West Library or the Bishop White Committee Library of East Asia reading rooms.
